I used to paint interiors and still lives. I am influenced by the work of the danish painter Vilhelm Hammershoi. Often commentators underline the "mysterious and loneliness atmosphere"  of Hammershoi's works. I am not sure I agree. I don't see in Hammershoi romantic or sentimental interests: I see an attempt to paint space, space as the object of painting.  Hammershoi reminds me of Giorgio Morandi, another painter who was not interested in sentimentalism  but rather in expressing the pleasure of the vision.
